What we aim for

PEPE is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. That is the standard we test against, and the one we will keep testing against as the lab opens.

What is in place today

Every form field has a label. Every button can be reached and pressed with a keyboard, and shows where focus is. Choices are announced as selected or not. Videos in which Pepe speaks carry captions, shown whenever sound is off, and the longer clip offers its full script as text. Animation respects your system's reduced-motion setting. Text meets the AA contrast ratio against its background. Nothing flashes.

What we know is not finished

Some decorative animation cannot yet be paused independently of the reduced-motion setting. Some of the lab's tools, not yet open, include interactive 3-D views that we are still making fully usable without a mouse.

Tell us

If something here does not work for you, message @pepescience on Instagram and say what you were trying to do and what happened. We will fix it, and we will tell you when we have.
